Malcolm X is a 1992 biographical dramatic movie about the African American activist Malcolm X. Directed & co written by Spike Lee, the movie stars Denzel Washington, Jr., Angela Bassett, Albert Hall, Al Freeman and Delroy Lindo.

Malcolm X starts with a sequence featuring an American flag being burned by fire intercut with George Holliday's iconic videotaped footage of the beatings of Los Angeles motorist Rodney King. A voice comes of Denzel Washington as Malcolm X angrily condeming the white America: "We don't see the American dream; we've experienced only the American nightmare!"
