Girl Interrupted is a 1999 drama movie, and an adaptation of Susanna Kaysen's 1993 memoir of the same name. Girl, Interrupted was released on December 21, 1999 and received mixed reviews from film critics. This is a movie about a mental patient who is locked up in an institution, all in all Kaysen's time there was 18-months. In April 1967, 18-year-old Susanna Kaysen tries to kill herself by taking an overdose of aspirin. She denies trying to commit suicide and says that she wants to write instead of going to college. After a while she finds friends, mostly people who are patients in the same place, some normal and some weird, some of them are named "Torch", Daisy, Georgina and "Toby". She hates to be forced to be there and after a time she tries to make plans for an escape. This movie is giving some insights of how psychiatry operates and a must see if interested in the subject..
