The movie is a true story of Betty Anne Waters, a single mother who works tirelessly to free the wrongfully convicted brother, Kenny. The movie unfolds in flashbacks and the film starts with the scene of a brutal murder of the name Katharina Brow in Massachusetts. Betty Anne's life, as get to see in the movie, revolves around her brother, who is now in jail for that murder. Though Kenny's knack for getting in trouble, Kenny and Betty have always been close. About two years after his release as a suspect in the 1980 murder of Katharina Brow in Ayer, Massachusetts, cause of newly evidence from two witnesses, Kenny is again arrested and he is tried.
